Best Advice
I went to a homeschool lecture about a year ago and heard some of the best advice that I had kind of forgotten about until recently. The speaker told everyone to make list of everything we wanted our children to be/be able to do by the time they were 20. Out of that list what if God said we could only pick one thing. What would it be? Then what if God let you pick out 2, 3 etc. Now you have a prioritized list to work on with your children. Her point was that most people want there children to be well mannered, compassionate, God fearing, capable people. That is what you need to focus on in your everyday life. All of that being said my number one would be for the girls to have an intimate relationship with Christ. I love doing preschool with Ellie and luckily at this point she loves it too but what I need to focus on more then anything is helping her create a solid foundation in her faith. When it comes down to it, it doesn't matter if she learns to read earlier then normal or if she falls a little behind in math. When she is older none of the little things like that matter!!!! I need to make sure I provide and environment that coincides with my prioritized list for the girls. That doesn't mean that I am going to stop doing preschool by any means it just means I want to add in devotionals and bible reading etc. and let her see me read my bible and for us to pray together etc. Now I need to go research creative ways to incorporate this in our daily life.

Amen girlfriend!! I love it! What an amazing gift to your girls to give them the knowledge and love of Christ at such a young age. You are an amazing Mom and child of Christ.
Great, great post Julie. I so agree with you. We get caught up in all the other things but a few years from now it really will not matter.
Thanks for sharing.
